De Nederlandstalige Wikipedia is sinds 19 juni 2001 online en telt inmiddels 2.157.151 artikelen. In de loop van de jaren zijn er voor het schrijven of bewerken van artikelen en voor de onderlinge samenwerking een aantal uitgangspunten en richtlijnen geformuleerd. Neem die als nieuwkomer ter harte. Lees ook eerst even de informatie in dit venster voordat je aan de slag gaat. Geen van de richtlijnen heeft kracht van wet, want Wikipedia is en blijft vóór alles vrij bewerkbaar, maar een beetje houvast voordat je in het diepe springt kan nooit kwaad.

Deze pagina, die nu op je scherm staat, is trouwens je persoonlijke overlegpagina, de plaats waar je berichten van andere Wikipedianen ontvangt en ze kunt beantwoorden. Iedere gebruiker heeft zo'n pagina. Wil je een nieuw overleg met iemand anders beginnen, dan kan dat dus op zijn of haar overlegpagina. Sluit je bijdragen op overlegpagina's altijd af met vier tildes, dus zo: ~~~~. Een druk op de handtekeningknop (zie afbeelding) heeft hetzelfde effect: je bericht wordt automatisch ondertekend met je gebruikersnaam en de datum en tijd waarop je je boodschap voltooide. Versturen doe je met de knop "Wijzigingen publiceren".
Melding links naar doorverwijspagina's bewerken
Beste TheRoyalTrust, bedankt voor uw recente bewerkingen. Een bot heeft geconstateerd dat u hierbij een of meerdere links naar doorverwijspagina's toegevoegd heeft. Meestal gebeurt dit onbedoeld. Het gaat om het volgende artikel:

As a good friend of mine and a member of a monastery, I know that your heart is pure. Sometimes, we may misinterpret things, but I have faith that with the grace and aid of God, you will find your way back to the truth and once again see God's will clearly. - By the way, have you had a chance to watch the documentaries I mentioned earlier? They're about Dutch missionaries who sacrificed their own lives to improve the lives of the heathens in Africa, fighting the slave trade and evangelizing the African continent long before the Colonial Conference in Berlin or the Anti-Slavery conference Brussels. The series was created by Marga Kerklaan, may her soul rest in peace, who used to work for the Dutch Catholic Radio and Television organization. It covers the history and accomplishments of the Dutch missionaries, who started their work in the mid-19th century, knowing that they had a maximum of five years to live, yet still went ahead with their mission anyway. The series spans from that time period all the way to the turn of the 21st century. I have to say, watching the documentaries touched me deeply. The missionaries' goodness and passion for their work was palpable, as if they were answering a calling.
- I hope that these documentaries will help illuminate your path towards God's light, just as they did for me. And by sharing their work on Wikipedia, you will also help spread their message and continue their legacy, ultimately helping to spread God's light to others.
