Pygospila tyres is een vlinder uit de familie van de grasmotten (Crambidae), uit de onderfamilie van de Spilomelinae. De soort is voor het eerst wetenschappelijk beschreven als Phalaena rurales tyres door Pieter Cramer in een publicatie uit 1780.
