Pythonodipsas carinata is een slang uit de familie Lamprophiidae.[1] Het is de enige soort uit het monotypische geslacht Pythonodipsas.

Pythonodipsas carinata werd voor het eerst wetenschappelijk beschreven door Albert Carl Lewis Gotthilf Günther in 1868. De soort komt voor in delen van Afrika, in Angola en Namibië, vermoedelijk komt de slang ook voor in Zambia.
