Verborgen weesjes

Hallo Michelle,

Ik zou graag even je aandacht willen vragen voor zogenaamde "verborgen weesjes" waarvan we er steeds meer krijgen op de Nederlandstalige Wikipedia. Omdat je woensdag niet bij het overleg was, even via je overlegpagina.

We merken het bij het Gendergap schrijfproject en de schrijfweken: mensen denken eraan om hun nieuw geschreven pagina bij de resultaten van het project te zetten, maar vergeten om het artikel vanaf andere pagina's te linken. Daarmee wordt het een verborgen wees: het artikel komt namelijk niet in de lijst van weespagina's, omdat het artikel 1 link heeft (namelijk de resultatenlijst). Vanuit de hoofdnaamruimte is er echter geen enkel artikel dat naar dit nieuwe lemma linkt.

Ik weet niet in hoeverre dit ook speelt bij de schrijfweken die jij organiseert, maar wilde je er graag op attenderen en er extra aandacht voor vragen de komende tijd. Misschien kun je de lijsten van jouw schrijfweken ook een nalopen?

Als je ook nog ideeën hebt waarmee we dit op een speelse manier op kunnen lossen, horen we graag van je.

Vragen over upload

Dag MichellevanLanschot, ik zag dat jij File:Pierre le Turcq overl. 1784 Erfgoedcentrum Rozet 300 191 d 2 A-38.jpg geüpload hebt. Voor het erfgoedproject ben ik over hem een artikel gestart, waarbij de gravure twee vragen bij me opriep:

1. In de beschrijving staat als datum 1783 en hier wordt ook 1783 genoemd. terwijl op de gravure 1782 lijkt bijgetekend. Wat is juist?
2. De titel 'Pierre le Turcq overl. 1784' lijkt te wijzen op het overlijdensjaar 1784. Weet je misschien (nog) hoe je aan die tekst gekomen bent? Tot nu toe heb ik namelijk geen bronnen gezien waar het overlijdensjaar zo nauwkeurig genoemd wordt.

Tijdens het uitzoeken (waar ik overigens nog niet mee klaar ben, de bronnen spreken elkaar wat tegen...) kwam ik ook dit tegen wat weleens een aanwijzing zou kunnen zijn voor de mogelijkheid dat de gravure uit 1782 komt. Encycloon (overleg) 6 nov 2018 19:00 (CET)

Dag Encycloon, allereerst, heel fijn dat je meedoet en interessant artikel! Wat betreft je vragen:

1. Ik zag dat op de gravure is aangegeven dat hij gegraveerd is naar een schilderij van Jacob Perkois (daar staat de datum 1782 bij vermeldt, links onder de afbeelding) en dat de gravure vormgegeven is door Pieter Willem van Megen in 1783 (rechtsonder). Omdat dit als tekst meegegeven is onder de gravure, en dat mij officiëler lijkt dat een bijgeschreven jaartal, zou ik dus uitgaan van 1783 als creatiedatum van de gravure. Het schilderij of het werk waarnaar deze gravure is gemaakt stamt dan waarschijnlijk uit 1782 (hoewel ik dat zo snel niet terug kan vinden).
2. Ik heb deze set afbeeldingen alleen geüpload, en weet niets over hoe de data tot stand is gekomen. Ik heb je vraag daarom gesteld aan TessaSlingerland, zij is vanuit Rozet meer inhoudelijk betrokken en kan dit navragen.

• Structured Data on Commons was the subject of a keynote presentation by Sandra (see slides) at the Baltic Audiovisual Archives Council conference in Tallinn, Estonia, November 2018.

Partners and allies

• The info portal on Structured Commons now includes a section on GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums).
• We are currently planning the first GLAM pilot projects that will use structured data on Wikimedia Commons. One project has already started: the Swedish Heritage Board researches and develops a prototype tool to provide improved metadata (translations, data additions...) from Wikimedia Commons back to the source institution. Read the project brief.
• The documentation for batch uploads of files to Wikimedia Commons will be improved in 2019, as part of preparing for Structured Data on Wikimedia Commons. To prepare, the GLAM team at the Wikimedia Foundation wants to understand better which types of documentation you already use, and how you like to learn new GLAM-Wiki skills and knowledge. Fill in a short survey to provide input!

De AutoWikiBrowser gebruiksaanwijzing staat hier: [1] Er staat de AWB geschikt is voor Mediawiki, dus zou het in theorie ook op Commons moeten lukken. Ciell 31 dec 2018 23:46 (CET)

Commons:Commons:AutoWikiBrowser. 1 woordje vervangen is makkelijk met AWB, hele tekstfragmenten is moeilijker, dan zul je toch richting een bot gaan ben ik bang. Kijk maar even wat ik als Gebruiker:Titania vannacht met Negerzoen heb gedaan, dat is het meest rechtlijnige dat met AWB kan. Ciell 1 jan 2019 01:25 (CET)

Hi Ciell, dankjewel voor de toelichting, goed om te weten wat de AWB kan, en excuses voor mijn late reactie (vakantie). Als kerstvakantie project ben ik inmiddels inderdaad onder begeleiding begonnen met het maken van een bot hiervoor. Ik hoop dat hij binnen twee weken klaar is. Alsnog de beste wensen ook! Structured Data - file captions coming this week (January 2019)

My apologies if this is a duplicate message for you, it is being sent to multiple lists which you may be signed up for.

Hi all, following up on last month's announcement...

Multilingual file captions will be released this week, on either Wednesday, 9 January or Thursday, 10 January 2019. Captions are a feature to add short, translatable descriptions to files. Here's some links you might want to look follow before the release, if you haven't already:

1. Read over the help page for using captions - I wrote the page on mediawiki.org because captions are available for any MediaWiki user, feel free to host/modify a copy of the page here on Commons.
2. Test out using captions on Beta Commons.
3. Leave feedback about the test on the captions test talk page, if you have anything you'd like to say prior to release.

Additionally, there will be an IRC office hour on Thursday, 10 January with the Structured Data team to talk about file captions, as well as anything else the community may be interested in. Date/time conversion, as well as a link to join, are on Meta.

Paginageschiedenis

Hoi Michelle,

Bij een fout in de paginanaam kan je het beste de pagina hernoemen. Dan blijft de paginageschiedenis behouden. Als je een tekst waar anderen aan hebben gewerkt kopieert en zonder bronvermelding plakt in een andere pagina dan pleeg je in feite auteursrechtenschending, ook als dit een projectpagina betreft. Structured Data - blogs posted in Wikimedia Space

There are two separate blog entries for Structured Data on Commons posted to Wikimedia Space that are of interest:

• Working with Structured Data on Commons: A Status Report, by Lucas Werkmeister, discusses some ways that editors can work with structured data. Topics include tools that have been written or modified for structured data, in addition to future plans for tools and querying services.
• Structured Data on Commons - A Blog Series, written by me, is a five-part posting that covers the basics of the software and features that were built to make structured data happen. The series is meant to be friendly to those who may have some knowledge of Commons, but may not know much about the structured data project.

Wikiproject Gendergap: update 2024

Hallo, Gendergapper!

Ik stuur je dit berichtje omdat je ingeschreven staat als deelnemer van het Gendergap-nl Wikiproject, om je te informeren over enkele updates over het project.

Zo hebben we de projectpagina WP:GAP opnieuw ingericht, onder andere met een Hot List met 10 rode links naar onderwerpen die nog beschreven kunnen worden! Handig voor als je zelf even geen inspiratie hebt, en als je een rode link blauw hebt gemaakt mag je het onderwerp verplaatsen naar de resultatenlijst en zelf een nieuw 'rood' onderwerp aandragen!

Ook zijn de WikiZaterdagen op het WMNL kantoor in Utrecht weer in ere hersteld: iedere tweede zaterdag van de maand ben je van harte welkom om te overleggen en samen te werken aan je bijdragen aan de projecten.

Als laatste wil ik je graag nog wijzen op de mailinglijst van de Nederlandse Gendergap werkgroep. De mailinglijst is er voor de uitwisseling van kennis en vragen over het Gender Gap op de Wikimedia projecten in brede (en internationale) zin.
