Impossible Puzzle bewerken

Sorry, I don't understand Nederlands. --Andrejj 7 mei 2007 07:39 (CEST)Reageren
It says your article has been proposed for deletion, for not being an encyclopedic article. If you don't speak dutch I wonder what's the source of the article, and if it might not be a copyvio. Regards. — Zanaq (?) 7 mei 2007 09:41 (CEST)
Source is listed: http://people.scs.fsu.edu/~burkardt/fun/puzzles/impossible_puzzle.html --Andrejj 7 mei 2007 09:50 (CEST)Reageren
I see. It's probably a copyrightviolation... Thanks. — Zanaq (?) 7 mei 2007 10:05 (CEST)
I think that (text of) puzzle itself it is not copyvio? --Andrejj 7 mei 2007 12:51 (CEST)Reageren
I have no Idea: It's copied from somewhere, so it's not my responsability to prove its a copyvio, rather the responsability of the author to prove it isn't. — Zanaq (?) 7 mei 2007 13:13 (CEST)

Translation bewerken

Could you please translate text bellow to Nederlands? --Andrejj 7 mei 2007 12:55 (CEST)Reageren

The Impossible Puzzle, also named Sum and Product Puzzle is a puzzle called "impossible" because it seems to lack sufficient information for a solution. It was first published in 1969 (Hans Freudenthal, Nieuw Archief Voor Wiskunde, Series 3, Volume 17, 1969, page 152). The name Impossible Puzzle was coined by Martin Gardner (Scientific American Volume 241, December 1979). The puzzle is solvable, though not easily. There exist many similar versions of puzzles.

Solution

The solution is: X=4, Y=13.

I could, but I won't, sorry. What is the source of the english text? — Zanaq (?) 7 mei 2007 13:13 (CEST)

Sources are listed, I use my words. --Andrejj 8 mei 2007 10:18 (CEST)Reageren
I have translated it anyway. The text of the puzzle should be replaced with a copyright-free version. There is still some doubt about the relevance, but at least the context is clear now. — Zanaq (?) 8 mei 2007 10:28 (CEST)
I have placed the numbers again. The numbers are known, only not to the people who want to solve the puzzle, according to the text. — Zanaq (?) 8 mei 2007 11:34 (CEST)
Yes, but that's the point: when posing problem numbers are known only to S and P but not to solver!
Yes, but the encyclopedia should give all information: wikipedia is not a puzzle-book. — Zanaq (?) 8 mei 2007 11:58 (CEST)
That's true, but information about S and P should be given in the solution, not in the puzzle itself. --Andrejj 8 mei 2007 12:25 (CEST)Reageren
Agreed. I think this is in part due to the fact that it is not really clear what the nature is of the puzzle. — Zanaq (?) 8 mei 2007 12:30 (CEST)
