De tweede divisie is de op twee na hoogste afdeling van het Nederlandse handbal bij de heren op landelijk niveau. In het seizoen 2016/2017 werd U.S. en Atomium '61 kampioen en promoveerden naar de eerste divisie. DEF-Fire/Aristos 2, Hercules 2, White Demons-Tachos en WPK/Westlandia degradeerden naar de hoofdklasse.
