Procedures for removing the admin flag

Activity criteria

If the request for removal is not made by an administrator, checkuser or bureaucrat, this user has no means to check if a user made less than 250 edits. In case the request is made by an editor without advanced permissions, always verify with a bureaucrat if the request complies with this policy.

An admin who has made less than 250 edits during the past 365 days, will have their admin flag removed. (See Wikipedia:Regelingen rond moderatoren) Becoming an admin again will follow the regular procedures.

Revoking trust

Registered users with more than 300 edits (not counting vandalism) who made their first edit at least 3 months ago, can revoke trust in an admin. Before the procedure can be started the admin should be informed on their talk page of the intention. At earliest 48 hours later, but at latest within 1 week, the procedure can be started by an announcement on the page Wikipedia:Afzetting moderatoren. The announcement needs to be accompanied by a motivation.

The poll of opinions will take 1 week, and starts the moment that it has been announced in a clear fashion on both Wikipedia:De kroeg and Wikipedia:Mededelingen. If more than 25% of the expressed opinions (there is no minimum requirement of responses; only pro- and against votes are counted) revoke confidence in the admin, they will lose the admin flag. Only the opinions are counted of users who would also be counted in the procedure for appointing an admin, so registered users who have have made at least 100 non-vandalistic edits during the twelve months before two weeks before the start of the poll.

Every user can start at most 1 such procedure for every admin every 12 months. An admin who has had their confidence questioned before can at the earliest be subject of such a procedure again 6 months after the ending of the last procedure, outside of extreme exceptions.

Voluntary removal of admin flag

An admin can at all times revoke their adminship by placing a request at Meta-Wiki and confirming this on their talk page on this Wikipedia, on the condition that the user pages are connected. Further details of this procedure are explained there.
