Hij is al heel lang voorstander van [[wetenschappelijk skepticisme]] en [[kritisch denken]] en richtten in 1994 de website ''[[Skeptic's Dictionary]]'' op. Aanvankelijk bevatte de site minder dan vijftig artikels, voornamelijk over [[informele denkfouten]] en [[pseudoswetenschappseudowetenschap]]. De site is ondertussen gegroeid tot enkele honderden artikels, waaronder vele over het paranormale en [[bovennatuurlijke]].
