De zekere stamreeks begint met Elbert Gerritsen, die in 1630 werd geboren en zich te Elburg vestigde als verver.

De stamreeks vervolgt zich met Gijsbert Elbertsen die zich als verver en rademaker te Harderwijk vestigde. Zijn broer Jan Elbertsen werd bezitter van het goed de Waller-enk te Nijkerk, sindsdien is hij Waller als geslachtsnaam gaan voeren. De zoon van Gijsbert, Elbert, werd koopman in tabak te Amsterdam en nam de geslachtsnaam 'Waller' van zijn oom over.

De familie werd in 1910 opgenomen in het Nederland's Patriciaat

Op maandag 20 februari werd in de media bericht dat er een politiemedewerker van de DBB (Dienst Bewaken en Beveiliging), verdacht werd van ambtsgeheimschending. Deze dienst heeft als taak het Koninklijk huis, politici en diplomaten te beschermen. De verdachte zou vertrouwelijke politie-informatie met personen uit zijn privésfeer hebben gedeeld. Toen dit aan het licht kwam, is de betreffende agent aangehouden en op non-actief gezet (bron http://nos.nl/artikel/2159223-politiemedewerker-beveiligingsdienst-op-non-actief-na-lekken.html). De volgende dag (dinsdag 21 februari) werd bekend dat de medewerker in een speciaal team werkte dat verantwoordelijk was voor de beveiliging van Wilders. Hij werd ervan verdacht opsporingsinformatie gelekt te hebben aan een Marokkaans-Nederlandse misdaadorganisatie. De taak van de betreffende medewerker was het maken van omgevingsscans van de plekken waar Wilders bezoeken aan moest brengen. Vanwege deze functie zou de agent toegang gehad hebben tot databases met zeer vertrouwelijk informatie zoals de locaties van de safehouses waarin Wilders vanwege veiligheidsredenen moet verblijven (bron: http://nos.nl/artikel/2159418-agent-verdacht-van-lekken-informatie-naar-marokkaanse-criminelen.html). Op donderdag 23 februari maakte het AD bekend dat de betreffende medewerker al eerder werd verdacht van het doorspelen van politie-informatie toen hij nog voor de Utrechtse politie werkte. Naar aanleiding van dit bericht maakte Wilders bekend dat hij al zijn publieke activiteiten zou opschorten "tot alle feiten m.b.t. onderzoek corruptie DBB bekend zijn".
