Na de verkiezingen van 14 oktober 2018 verloren CD&V en sp.a (nu "proKA") hun meerderheid. N-VA en Groen wonnen elk een zetel erbij, en sloten een bestuursakkoord. Burgemeester wordt huisarts Renaat Huysmans ([[N-VA]]).

Burgemeester is [[Edward De Wit]] (CD&V). Hij leidt een coalitie bestaande uit CD&V en sp.a. Samen vormen ze de meerderheid met 11 op 21 zetels. Grootste partij [[N-VA]] (8 zetels) werd uitgesloten van de macht.
