Unknown field cz (cs) - Památkou_do bewerken

Hi Multichill. Thank You for tireless updating of the page Commons:Commons:Monuments database/Unknown fields/monuments cz (cs) (and other useful pages) and all your work on WLM and monument database.

Since you didn't respond to triple notification about new names of coordinates fields (unified with cs infoboxes) in last 8 months, cs-wikipedia returned them to the old form known for wlm bots (Zeměpisná_šířka, Zeměpisná_délka). This case can be considered to be resolved for now.

The only "unknown field" which remains to be taken into account by wlm bots is "Památkou_do" (Protected Untill). This field has identic format as "Památkou_od" (Protected Since). The monuments with a date in "Památkou_do" field are former monuments (vanished or freed from the protection).

Please leave some response here this once. Thank You. ŠJů (overleg) 2 jul 2014 00:18 (CEST)Reageren

Hi ŠJů, as I already said several times before: I just transfered the tools to labs and that's it. I'm not going to do anything more. It was that or abandoning the tool altogether. So the tool doesn't have a maintainer right now. I don't have Commons:Commons talk:Monuments database/Unknown fields/monuments cz (cs) on my watchlist so I don't notice. I understand that's not the answer you want to hear. I have multiple people asking me to do changes. I wonder if it was a mistake of me to move the tool. I'm now getting to the point that I'm just going to shut down the tool altogether just to don't be bothered any more. If you want to help: Find some additional maintainers. Hi Multichill. Thank You for your answer. As you can see, Commons:Commons talk:Monuments database/Unknown fields/monuments cz (cs) links older notices from 3 different people at 3 your different discussion pages - 2 from November 2013 and one from February 2014. I believe, you have the linked pages Overleg gebruiker:Multichill, Commons:User talk:Multichill and Commons:User talk:ErfgoedBot in your watchlists. Nevertheless, all 3 notices were archived automatically without any merest reply. That was in winter.
I personally am not adept at programming but I believe, when you will give some invitation (at Village Pump, on your and your bot's user pages etc.), there are many users around Wiki projects which would be able and willing to some kind of help. Maybe I would also be able to some small corrections or updating (as simple local parameter rename etc). Your work on it was and is great and useful. It would be a pity to let this work to become neglected and unmanaged. --ŠJů (overleg) 6 jul 2014 18:47 (CEST)Reageren

Bot flag on frwiki bewerken

Hello,

As a bureaucrat on frwiki, I was checking the activity of the bots, and noticed that yours had been inactive for at least 6 months. Morover, the interwikis are now centralized on Wikidata. It is not reasonable that an unmonitored account keeps a bot flag, as it may be more easily hacked. Do you wish to keep the bot flag? If this is the case, please tell me so (preferably on my talk page on frwiki, otherwise on my talk page on this project). Without any answer from you, the bot flag will be removed in one month.

Thank you for your comprehension, Litlok (overleg) 10 jul 2014 15:40 (CEST)Reageren

Which one Litlok? I have several bots: BotMultichill, BotMultichillT and Gebruiker:ErfgoedBot. I assume BotMultichill, that's a global bot so you can just deflag that one.
(I'm wondering if you get a ping for this) Multichill (overleg) 10 jul 2014 16:49 (CEST)Reageren
Yes, I got a ping, yes, it was fr:User:BotMultichill and OK, I will deflag it :-) Thanks for the answer! Litlok (overleg) 10 jul 2014 17:21 (CEST)Reageren

AddCommonsCatLinks bewerken

Hi Multichill, maybe you already heard about a script that allows to add missing images and commonscat to a monument list done by Dudemanfellabra. We have been talking about the implementation and how to support the n:m relationship between protected objects in the wikipedias and commonscat entries on Commons (example of mulitplicity > 1).

The requirement from the script's point of view is to find all images and categories on Commons bearing a given ID. This must be possbile even if there is more than one ID of the same type (using the template more than once).

The proposed solution includes a hidden red link in all commons templates marking such images with an ID (like Denkmalgeschütztes Objekt Österreich or already having the red link Naturdenkmal Österreich). The hidden red link allows to find all images and categories having the given ID by navigating via 'What links here' functionality backwards. This is necessary to suggest images and categories with a given ID on the wikipedia side. The hidden red link provides a simple feature to also find all images for a given ID directly in commons without the need of external tools (see the other link in Gasselhöhle, reparsing still missing).

The solution involves the change of all ID bearing templates on commons to insert the hidden red link.

Our questions:

  • What is the best place to discuss such a requirement and solution?
  • Do you have a better/simpler solution for the problem described. Maybe not even involving the need of an additional red link?

May I ask for your thoughts and help, preferable on en:User_talk:Dudemanfellabra#AddCommonsCatLinks. kind regards --Herzi Pinki (overleg) 25 jul 2014 08:11 (CEST)Reageren
