Incorrect Diagram?

First, my apologies for writing here in English... I recently rewrote the EN article for the Constrictor knot at [1] and when I was checking the language links in that article I noticed the one pointing to this NL article. The diagram here does not correspond to the knot known in English as the Constrictor knot. The knot should have an overhand knot (Halve steek) formed under an overriding turn, with the ends emerging between the two outside turns. Assuming the Wurgsteek is not actually the knot shown in the current diagram, feel free to use the images I uploaded for the EN Constrictor page. (The DE page also has some good images.) There is obviously some confusion, the constrictorknot is a different one (see Constrictorknoop). I have therefore remove the twijfel template (which is actually the correct one). The interwiki was erroneous. Kleuske 22 jul 2007 19:38 (CEST)

Thanks for the help and clarification, Kleuske. However, the question remains whether the diagram on this page shows an actual Wurgsteek...

The new interwiki link points at en:Strangle knot, which may well be correct. However the knot currently shown is simply a rearranged Halve steek (en:Overhand knot), rather than the en:Double overhand knot that results in a Strangle knot. There has been some discussion regarding the diagram here, here, and here.

If it is a definite fact that Wurgsteek and Strangle knot are names for the same knot, then feel free to use this commons image instead of the current diagram. --Dfred 23 jul 2007 16:07 (CEST)

De wurgknoop is wel degelijk een opzichzelfstaande knoop, alleen moet het losse eind eerst achter het vaste (lange) touw langs en dan pas onder de wikkelingen door. Verder heb je nog de Mastworp en mast worp met voorslag en de constrictor.En er zijn nog wel meer variaties. Er staat nog steeds een verkeerd plaatje op wikipedia. Als je de knoop op het plaatje probeert te leggen valt hij uit elkaar!!! Dus betrouwbaar? Vergeet het maar, het plaatje is fout getekend! Het werkend eind moet eerst achter het vast eind langs en daarna pas onder de gelegde rondtornen door. Gebeurd dit niet dan valt de knoop uit elkaar en is hij dus erg onbetrouwbaar! – De voorgaande bijdrage werd geplaatst door 84.86.243.5 (overleg · bijdragen)

Als je verstand hebt van knopen, wordt je van harte uitgenodigd het artikel te verbeteren. Zoals je hierboven kunt lezen, weet ik er weinig van. Kleuske (overleg) 28 nov 2012 13:11 (CET)
