Just a small geographical correction

Sorry for writing in English, but I just wanted to make a small correction to this article. Vesterålen consists of the municipalities (kommuner) Andøy, Bø, Hadsel, Sortland and Øksnes. Geographically, Lødingen isn't a part of Vesterålen, but during the last few years it is more and more considered to be part of Vesterålen, because communication-wise it is closer to Vesterålen than to Harstad or Narvik, and has more connections with Vesterålen than Harstad or Narvik.

This means that the eastern part of Hinnøya island, including Harstad, is not part of Vesterålen. Also, some people, especially in Lofoten, insist that the northern part of Austvågøy island is geographically a part of Lofoten, not Vesterålen. Most people in Vesterålen disagree with this, though, so I believe it is safe to say that the northern part of Austvågy is part of Vesterålen. Blue Elf 23 mei 2007 01:07 (CEST)
