Jaar van het aansluiting van het Gilly-Jumet sectie?

I'm not sure the year 1989 given for the end of the Gilly-Jumet service is correct. The last edition of the SSP 119/1 (The schematic plan representing signals and installations for line 119) was edited in december 31th, 1986. That map extends from the beginning of the line 119 at Chatelet (km 18476) to the Y-Noir-Dieu (km 15079). The unedited version of the map (it was patched in 1987, 88 and 93 to reflect the various changes) shows that in 1986, the line already stopped just after km 15000. So either there is an error in the date given in the article, or people used from 1986 to 1989 a map that was highly inaccurate :). (Sorry for the English, I'm not good enough in Dutch to explain that)

Both [1] and [2] use 1989 as end date of service on the Gilly-Jumet section. It is however possible that they copied each other. I am however very curious to see this map, can it be found online? It probably reflects the correct situation and the date should be changed. Wiebevl 15 apr 2009 09:25 (CEST)Reageren
Unfortunately, I only got that map as a paper document. Fortunately, I also got a decent scanner :). [3] is a scan of the whole map, recto side. This is a map that was used as a reference for the daily work at Châtelet Station (B.49). The patchy look of the scan comes from that as the situation changed, the map was edited by glueing newer drawings on top of the old ones. Although the scan doesn't show the layers under the topmost one, they are pretty easy to see by transparency with help of the sunlight.
[4] Shows a scan of the back of the map. The lines visible there were from the initial layer of the map (dated 31-12-86), and not of the further edits (Signalling post of Gilly 2 is still visible at the right of the scan). Plain lines of the SSPs of that time meant that the line was in use, while dashed ones marked out of order tracks. From this map, one can conclude the following:
- That the line 257 was not in use after the Y-Noir-Dieu in late 1986 - the tracks starting at the L119/L257 switch are noted in dashed lines, used to represent out of order/unused tracks;
- That line 119 ended soon after the railroad crossing nr.21 at the same date;
- The second edit the plan received is noted as "22.1.88 - Removal of Block 2 Gilly-Sart-Allet" on the map front page and introduced the stop block at km16.743. It is thus impossible that any kind of service existed past Gilly after that date.
As a side note, the last edit of the map is "23.03.93 - Line 119 out of order". This means that the official year for the end of line 119 usage is 1993, not 1992 as claimed in the article (though it is likely that there was a delay between the last freight train and the official change.
We'd probably need the previous version of that map (SSP 119/1-1985C) to determine exactly when lines 257 and 119 past Noir-Dieu were put out of service; unfortunately, I have no idea where to find such a map. Lauwenmark 15 apr 2009 15:06 (CEST)Reageren
This is good information for correct representation. There should be maps for every railway line with necessary updates. I wonder if those are made public. However, I shall update the info box with this as source and start a search for similar maps :-). Wiebevl 15 apr 2009 16:26 (CEST)Reageren
