Ludvig Adolphson (born 1983) is a Finnish artist based in Malmö and Helsinki. He is an artist and a social critic. He had his breakthrough with his Earth exposition.

Life and work

Ludvig Adolphson, born on december 11th 1983 in Finland in the city of Haapavesi. Adolphson spend the most of his childhood in this city with his parents and 2 sisters.

When Adolphson was in primary school he discovered his fascination for pottery and creating art. His parents and teachers encouraged him to become an artist and offered their support. At the age of 11 the Tikanoja Art Museum organised an exposition for young students who were interested in art to expose their work at an real exposition. At this exposition his work was one of the main pieces of art because of the enormous amount of interest in his work. At this exposition he won his first art prize in his starting career.

Because of the interest his teachers encouraged him to go to the Haapaveden Lukio high school, this is an school specialised in preparing students for an educational program at an art school.During this school program he participated in different local art expositions.

After graduating high school he moved to Helsinki to pursue his career as an artist. He went the University of the Arts in Helsinki. He made the skill of pottery his own expressional art form and tried to tell stories by creating different kinds of vases.

Earth Exposition

His Earth Exposition became well known for his modern style vases that represented ethnicities and countries from all around the globe. It was meant to unite people and show that even though it might not look like it, we are more similar than we think.
