Since its founding in 2006, First Degree Fitness Europe has focused on efficiënt work processes and to profile itself as a professional company by delivering the best possible service. In addition, we are registered as a certified training company. That means that young enthusiastic students can do an internship with us. We are proud of this recognition, and we hope to be able to guide many students in the coming years. Our warehouse, office and showroom is located in a beautiful part in the middle of the Netherlands, Wijk bij Duurstede. One Tank,Two Chambers

The patented Fluid Technology variable resistance system makes ingenious use of a twin-chamber tank.

Water can be transferred to and from the two chambers by means of a lever or dial operation. Water in the outer chamber provides resistance to paddles when rotated by the pulling force of the user. Any water in the inner “passive” chamber does not provide resistance. Thus the resistance can be varied through changing the water level in the outer tank and the effort of the user.

NOTE: The complete system holds 8 litres (= 8kg) of water.

2. Resistance selector dial

Other indoor water rowers don’t have the option for direct controlled resistance, limiting progression in training development or fitness level. Being able to change resistance mid-workout is a unique option on FDF’s patented indoor water rowing technology, allowing changes in resistance at the turn of a dial. This patented and unique feature is also ideal for multiple users in group training training, where differing fitness levels can be combined, and for interval training. All lesser quality water rowers allow the water to run faster in the tank with every stroke, a resistance peak in the middle of the stroke as result, with no single respect to the stroke length or stroke rate.

3. Triple blade, stainless steel impeller

FDF’s marine grade and precision engineered stainless steel impeller and internal tank baffles keep resistance throughout the complete part of rowing action. A multi-bladed impeller and internal baffles combination within the rowing machine’s water tank, provides a smooth and uniform stroke unique in its precise duplication of real on-water rowing.  Not any lack of resistance at the catch, experienced on all other water resistance rowers,  and consistent progressive resistance is delivered all the way to the finish, just like using a boat. This smooth and dynamic stroke resistance profile makes sure the whole body works throughout each stroke, without the intimidating high peak resistance during the stroke provided by other indoor rowing machines.

4. Patented twin tank

FDF’s patented twin tank allows to adjust volumes of water to move between tanks as the user makes resistance changes, from feather light to Olympic sprint. This is why we call it variable fluid resistance. With FDF’s patented twin tanks, you can change resistance during- and holding a steady stroke rate.  Other indoor water rowers don’t have this key feature, with a single chamber tank forcing the user to row much faster or slower to increase or lower resistance.
