Blue Dot Flag

A green flag with a blue dot in the center

A blue dot flag is a green flag with one blue circle in the center of it. The flag represents the earth and every living creature on it. This flag is free to use for everyone who feels connected to this beautiful planet, who wants to improve it or help it through these transformative times.

The Blue dot flag was first used in 2019 and it aims to convert the immense and highly complex climate issues to one simple symbol everybody can relate to.

The name

bewerken

The name Blue dot is derived from a photograph of planet Earth taken on February 14, 1990, by the Voyager 1 space probe from a record distance of about 6 billion kilometers (3.7 billion miles, 40.5 AU), as part of that day’s Family Portrait series of images of the Solar System. Carl Sagan described the earth seen from that distance as "a pale blue dot".
