An unusual featurehas been adopted by bringing the entrance stairs up withinthe station buildings. Passometers are used to give accesspast the ticket windows to the trains and also for exit pastanother ticket window at those stations where transfers aregiven to connecting surface lines. Exit turnstiles have alsobeen installed at the stations. A continuous platform orrailed sidewalk, near the level of the car floors, connects allstations, for the use of workmen or for use as emergencyexits.
