Hello Pigsonthewing, you seem to be promoting images of Andy Mabbett, created or uploaded by..... yourself, on the Dutch Wikipedia, so for one thing, that's a clear matter of self promotion. You do so by asking others to write meaningfull captions, so you have no idea about the context of the images yourself. It really is a very bad idea to interfere with content of articles you have no idea about. You can of course guess what's in it, but that's not the same as getting a feel for what's needed to illustrate the content. I left your images on Pink Floyd in place, because I guess someone will see a use for them at some point, and can create meaningful descriptions; in the cases of Hop (plant) and Kerstster (Euphorbia), there was realy no use for your images. As you are unable to understand the content of those pages, it's not up to you to decide your images are useful. I concluded they are not, and removed them. Please add your images to pages in languages you can understand, and let others decide whether or not to use your images they can find on commons. WIKIKLAAS overleg 10 jan 2018 02:23 (CET)
- "Promoting"? What a strange concept. I think you mean "thank you for volunteering your time to make images for Wikipedia, and for sharing them under an open licence." Furthermore, I assure you I have plenty of "idea" about the contents of the pages to which I have added images (in both cases where you removed images, the specific subject of the image is discussed, but was not illustrated, in the article). - If you were one of only a few contributors of images, you would have a point. But for most topics there is a hundredfold of images available compared to the number needed. In that case it is a wise concept to not let the creator of the image also be the judge that his image is the one that fits best. And in the cases mentioned above, you certainly missed the point because you understood too little of the content of the article. Your images were also ill placed and ill formatted. In short: let the authoirs of the text decide whether they need your images. They can do so by visiting Wikimedia Commons, and make a selection of the images available there.
