De '''ijskruidfamilie''' (''Aizoaceae'') is een familie van [[Kruidachtigen|kruidachtige]] planten in de orde van de ''[[Caryophyllales]]''. Tot deze familie horen voornamelijk vlezige kruiden of struiken met vlezige bladeren, zoals de [[levende steentjes]]. De meeste soorten komen uit warme streken, bijvoorbeeld [[Zuid-Afrika]] en zijn goed aangepast aan het leven op droge plaatsen.
 
De bloemen lijkendoen wel iets denken aan grote [[madeliefje]]s, maar erdat is geenenkel familieverwantschapbij zeer oppervlakkige beschouwing. Planten uit de ijskruidfamilie hebben geen samengestelde bloembloemhoofdjes, zoals bij [[composiet (plantenfamilie)|composieten]].
 
Een bekend lid van de familie is de [[ijsplant]] (''Dorotheanthus bellidiformis''), die een geliefde tuinplant is. De [[hottentotvijg]] (zie afbeelding) is een soort die in [[Europa (continent)|Europa]] in het wild voorkomt. Het [[ijskruid]] komt ook in het [[Middellandse-Zeegebied]] voor en wordt gegeten als [[bladgroente]].
 
Er is geen werkelijke overeenstemming over de interne taxonomie van de familie.
