==> Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick

MoiraMoira The template is not officially launched, I only realise tests to find errors and to ask corrections, see the development. For exemple, today the problem for prologue/proloog of for listing a team as winner of a team time trial have been corrected. I will not speak to users of a program that is not perfect, it will not be serious. I prefer wait that all is good.
I often follow the NL Wikipedia, and I see on cycling that (like italians) you have a lack of persons to create articles about races. The only solution is to work on Wikidata for datas (like Edoderoo do) and to display datas on articles. This will let you enough time to write longer articles because you will save time. To be able to do that, I must test programs on different Wikipedias. If I don't do tests, there will be mistakes when the programm will be launched.
Another problem will be solve because we have sometimes different datas. When we find them we will add sources and deprecated false values. Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick (overleg) 17 dec 2015 21:06 (CET)Reageren
Then please use testwiki for such edits and do not simply replace the existing work of Dutch editors by you own tests. If such formats will be feasible and finished then I suggest you confer on the talk pages first before start replacing matters.   MoiraMoira overleg 18 dec 2015 00:01 (CET)Reageren
For the Tour de France 2016, it was the work of a Dutch editor, Edoderoo. For the rest, Wikidata is like Wikimedia Commons, it is the work made by a big number of users, and they don't come from the same country. I think you don't know what is really Wikidata and what it permits to do, and it is a big problem because you revert without searching to understand what are the progresses bring by this programm. Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick (overleg) 18 dec 2015 00:14 (CET)Reageren
Rest assured I do know what wikidata is. What I simply am telling you is to confer first and not replace matters without them being wanted for or asked for. Also I noticed you replaced existing correct data with data that showed less facts and details. All the more reason to check matters first, talk to the contributors of a specific article and ask for input and strive for consensus first before replacing text with templates that are still in a test phase.   MoiraMoira overleg 18 dec 2015 01:02 (CET)Reageren

I already try to speak to Yannick1 (3 jun 2014, 19 okt 2014 and 15 sep 2015), he never respond to me. So I don't think he will speak this time, but I already try. This template add more informations, and tables always have the same form, it is better. It is better on an other point : one unique user can update all the Wikipedia who called Wikidata, it is a big progress. Before of speaking of consensus, I need a perfect programm, and I need users that respond when I speak to them. Don't forget that a big part of the cyclists I take in photos are from Netherlands or Vlaanderen, and it is always a problem to say to them to go on the French Wikipedia because we don't have articles in their language. Wikipedia is a game for some users, for me it is my work. Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick (overleg) 18 dec 2015 13:49 (CET)Reageren

My advice stands. If you cannot confer here with contributors at all since you do not speak Dutch and as long as your edits are tests stick to testwiki please and implement them after discussion/consensus on your homewiki. If matters are present on wikidata leave it to people who do speak Dutch to confer and after consensus implement them. Wikipedia is neither a game nor work, it is an encyclopedia made by volunteers who cooperate. Regards,   MoiraMoira overleg 18 dec 2015 14:01 (CET)Reageren
All Dutch understand English, if it is not the case, it is not very difficult to translate with Google. Wiki NL is like Wiki FR : we have very good editors, and bad editors that don't have a vision about the future of Wikipedia (I can quote I love the cyclisme on FR Wiki). It is the same on other Wikipedias, I can quote one ot two name by Wikipedia. On my homewiki, this programm have entered in function and test are finished.
I wish you the best on your homewiki with implementing matters. Regards,   MoiraMoira overleg 18 dec 2015 14:20 (CET)Reageren

Wacht even. Yannick1 (overleg) 1 mrt 2016 13:40 (CET)Reageren
Google Translate is not perfect as I see. But we are all agree to say that datas from Wikidata are as good as the datas we enter on NL or FR Wiki, and that the infobox has no problem about programming. It is the new version of infobox that we will share in the future. Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick (overleg) 1 mrt 2016 13:44 (CET)Reageren
No, there is no consensus at all. Not about how correct the numbers/data are, not about placing the template. Dqfn13 (overleg) 1 mrt 2016 14:00 (CET)Reageren
- Robotje (overleg) 1 mrt 2016 15:45 (CET)Reageren
Dqfn13 : dates come from the same databases used in FR Wiki, NL Wiki, or others. It is ProCyclingStats and de Wielersite, sometimes CQ Ranking and the UCI. It is mandatory for items to have entries with these databases, so datas are as good on Wikidata as here. And to place the templace, it is as easier as to place an classical infobox.
Robotje : as explained, there is a change, projects are now developping on Wikidata, I manage the WikiProject Cycling that is competent about datas about cycling in all Wikipedias. I calculate a global consensus for any function. The opinion of NL Wiki community has the same importance that opinion of RU, ES or MK Wiki. Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick (overleg) 1 mrt 2016 16:07 (CET)Reageren
With your template there is one problem: dates are managed on an external website, most users won't know that and when they want to change datas here, they'll have to change them somewhere else. Most users are not active enough to know how Wikidata works. Not to mention the fact people need to know that the new data will be on Wikidata and not on Wikipedia. I'm moderatly active on wikidata and not even I know half the stuff I want to know there. Dqfn13 (overleg) 1 mrt 2016 16:12 (CET)Reageren
There was a link that would bring the editor straight to the Wikidata item (or it could be activated, it wasn't activated for all languages yet I remember, that's a simple switch in the code). And when the data is entered by someone, it will show up immediately in the article, which is often in the first hour after the race finishes, as I've seen happening last weekend. Wikidata is not so much harder to understand as filling up a template, and chances that you have to/want to/need to enter the data is much much smaller, as the number of users that will take care of nl-data is much bigger once it is stored on Wikidata. And Wikidata is not an external website, it is just like Commons another Wikimedia project. ed0verleg 1 mrt 2016 16:27 (CET)Reageren
I know it is not en external website... but do less active people know that? Or people who are highly expertised (active on just one [type of] subject) know? Like for instance people who only edit articles about soccer players of Feyernoord or from Flanders? Or people who only edit about cyclist of the Lotto-Jumbo team? Dqfn13 (overleg) 1 mrt 2016 16:40 (CET)Reageren
You first argument is it is an external website and now you know it's not. Not-active people do not even know they can edit Wikipedia theirselves. People editing about football do not care about an infobox on cycling, and people only editing the riders of the Lotto-Jumbo team do not edit infoboxes of races. You are making issues bigger then they are, and Wikidata is being filled, regardless if nl-wiki uses them or not. It's the same as 2 years ago on tennis statistics, people complain that Wikidata is weird, scary, full of vandalism, etc. And the only thing is that Wikidata is now pretty much up to date and nl-wiki is 2 years behind on the weekly changing statistics. The same is going to happen here, the up-2-date data is available, but we prefer to type them over manually by hand by someone that actually speaks Dutch. Well, fine with me. ed0verleg 1 mrt 2016 16:47 (CET)Reageren
[editing at same time] Dqfn13 : it is not a problem, Edoderoo like me, we can pass time to explain all they want at the users that are interested to know more. Personnaly, I already do it and it is not a problem. But we start to have an interesting community on Wikidata, so we can imagine that little to little "less active people" concentrate their work on redaction/text and let the datas for Wikidatian. On FR Wiki, for example, before Wikidata, some users never write text to articles when others are specialised to discribe races. We need people that write text, they are the users we should take care at the maximum. NL Wiki is not the first Wikipedia to benefit of Wikidata for cycling, my experience show that a small user has no problem to correct an information on Wikidata. It is very easy, and sometimes more simple that writing Wikitext on Wikipedia. For a team roster, even a child can try, you just have to list cyclists, their date of birth and their country is already know in the item of the cyclists, and it will be the case for his teams. We avoid to repeat informations. Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick (overleg) 1 mrt 2016 16:52 (CET)Reageren
[Response to Dqfn13 16:12] Interesting, we can have discussion about the program itself. I will not lie, it is a big change. I will lie if I say you it is the same that working on Wikipedia.
I think there are cycles of users on Wikipedia & Co. For example, our way to contribute is different than ten years ago, for example we must now add sources, it was not the case when Wikipedia was young. In 2004, we have had Wikimedia Commons, it was a big change because users were obliged to contribute on Wikimedia Commons instead posting their photos on NL Wiki, or take photos of another Wikipedia to upload them on NL Wiki. Here, it is the same, instead of doing always the same work, we share our datas and benefit of them. It is very new. it is the first time that a program permits to work on a big number of Wikipedias. So it is also the first time we can see all the advantages of Wikidata.
There is no secrets, our way to develop our program has change since the beginning of the work three months ago. For example, we have developed a translatable documentation. All is explained to fill the datas on Wikidata. There are different categories of users. Some like Edoderoo or me will naturaly work on Wikidata (I also take a big number of photos of race), others, like typically Yannick1 will rest on NL Wiki and will work on articles, but because he will save time, he will can pass more time to add text to article, that give the value of Wikipedia. On FR Wiki, we enter all our informations on Wikidata, thanks to this, more than ten Wikipedias can if they wish benefit of these datas and save time. In exchange, they can also add datas, and everybody is winning. In the future, we will can display classifications. You imagine the time we will save ? Thanks to this, we will improve the quantity on Wikipedias, but also the quality, because non-interesting work will be done just one time.
Entering datas on Wikidata is not very difficult, the idea is just to learn one statement by day. Before may 2015, I never contribute to Wikidata, but I have seen all we can do with it. And there is other progress, a latvian user develop a little program that display the roster of a team, see lv:Team Sky. It is a chance. When a cyclist will left or enter a team, we will at one place add a date and a source, and all Wikipedias will be updated.
- Robotje (overleg) 1 mrt 2016 17:26 (CET)Reageren
Yes and no. I use Google translate, because I don't speak Vlaams or Dutch. The problem is you compare different projects. Here, we speak about Wikidata Cycling, and we don't have had such problems. Adding sources is mandatory, you should always see statements to ProCyclingStats in each item. If users are not agree, we search sources and deprecate the bad value and add a qualifier. Our datas are used in more than one Wikipedia that have its articles, so if there is a problem, somebody see it, and on Wikidata we also start to have a community about cycling. The code has been tested, you can even see I adapt it for NL Wiki, so a classic user never see it, he know that it works and do not ask how. It is the same for classical infoboxes. Here, we just have code to make the work easier, for exemple, when adding the name of a cyclist, you have always its nationality, event if it change during the time. Thanks to the little Wikidata logo, he know that the information is on Wikidata, and if necessary, he can see the documentation. or he can contact another user. It is thanks to users that we improve the program. Personnaly, I think we should only speak to this program and its three functions. If more than ten Wikipedias use it, you guess that it is because it is very good and adapted to the needs of users who do this work.
Ah ! Interesting question ! The super module is at d:Module:Cycling race. It is the version we copy and paste to the Wikipedias. If you go at the bottom of the code, or if you edit and go between lines 1227 and 1237, you will see that we have started to enter specific cases : countries that change their flags. When we have a case, we add it at the super module. We started to do this with Italy and Spain, that change their flags.
More interesting : you inform me to this specific case. I search informations, and add new lines of code as you can see thanks to you. Now, the next time I will update the copies on the different Wikipedias, it will be possible to have cyclists from Romania at different periods of the history without anachronism. You have the example on how we can improve a template thanks to the intervention of a user, you this time. If an user decide to write articles about former races, it will be finish the possibility to make errors of flags, the program now know that Romania has had different flags, thanks to you (even if there are very few cyclists from this country, I just know Eduard-Michael Grosu that I take in photo). Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick (overleg) 1 mrt 2016 18:39 (CET)Reageren
Edoderoo : I find its question very interesting. I even find that this is an extremely constructive remark he did, because that is the kind of issues that can improve the program. It has its own vision of things, and these are details that only a contributor could see that are exciting. Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick (overleg) 1 mrt 2016 18:39 (CET)Reageren
For nationality, we have the example of Christopher Froome (Q319591), a well know cyclist. We simply give dates to nationalities. This way, the program give its good nationality at the good date, see for this cyclist the fr:Herald Sun Tour 2016. Interesting question again.
