Knee-jerk reverts

I've clearly and repeatedly stated my purpose for adjusting the sizing and positioning of the images in the Somaliërs article. I've explained that, in their current size, the images simply overrun the text. Anyone can see that this is indeed the case. The images therefore need to be resized and repositioned to fit comfortably within the text. This is a no-brainer. Unless of course you deliberately want the Somaliërs page to look sloppy, I do not see your purpose in insisting on one size and on one hemisphere for all of the images. How does the fact that all of the images are kept at your personally favored 270px in the Wiki code (which no actual reader reads) supercede the actual readability and overall look of the article itself (which readers do, by contrast, actually read)? Are we writing an article here for the general public or just for you? And where exactly in the list of Wiki policies does it state that images must be one size, and only featured on one section of the page? Where does it also state that they must overrun their own sections into others? I'm looking at Wikipedia's official Manual of Style, but I sure don't see it. All I see is a great point about avoiding image "stackups", as well as the following:

"Images should be inside the section they belong to (after the heading and after any links to other articles), and not above the heading."

There's also this excellent tutorial on image markups. See all the different ways to resize, reposition, and frame images? They are there for a reason: So that users aren't stuck with a one-size-fits-all method of image editing that leaves them with images that are stranded outside of their respective sections or with tacky image stack-ups, among other things.

You also write that I don't have an account, presumably as a means of justifying your continuous reverts of my commonsensical and necessary edits. Well, I obviously do now. But even when I didn't have an account, there still was no Wiki rule stating that your rights supercede mine. If there is, kindly quote it for me because I must've missed it! If you want to revert the article back to the sloppy "270px" version, you'd better have actual, legitimate reasons for doing so. Otherwise, it just looks like you're trying your hardest to make the Somaliërs article appear as unkempt as possible, Wiki policies be damned (and for heaven knows what reason). Greeat you have an account, that's much appreciated. There was also a second reason that was cut off in the summary and that was: "This is the Dutch Wikipedia, there are other conventions than en:". This is the main issue I have. Although we follow the same pillars, there are difference between the different Wikipedias. Why are your edits not good:

1. The top right infobox is fixed at nl: to 270px. That's why it's a good idea to have images at 270px to keep it all one size. If there was no infobox I had no problems with 300px.
2. I don't see overlap with the text, but I will correct this as far as possible.
3. The images are in the section they belong to and they also are on the topright of those sections; that is commons usage at nl:. You put e.g. 'Somali man in fez' under the section 'origins'. That's plain wrong.

Nomadenvolk

Het gedeelte:"en zijn traditioneel gezien een nomadenvolk.". Is in mijn ogen geschreven met wezelwoorden. 1-Door wie worden ze gezien als een nomadenvolk 2-Wat wordt er bedoelt met 'traditioneel' 3-En deze zin wordt niet ondersteund met bronnen. Daarom is het beter dat het verwijderd moet worden. En het is nog tegenstrijdig want in de geschiedenis(nu op een kleinere schaal) bedreven de Somaliërs veel handel via zee, net als de Nederlanders in de Gouden Eeuw. Ik denk toch echt dat je hier een verkeerde interpretatie van 'wezelwoorden' hanteert. Naar mijn mening had je ook het bron-sjabloon toe kunnen voegen in plaats van de tekst te verwijderen. De bewering komt namelijk ook in de rest van de tekst voor. Maar goed, wat dacht je ervan als ik het terugplaats met deze bronnen:

'Wezelwoorden' of holle frasen worden beschreven als onduidelijke of wazige formuleringen. Hierbij is er dan sprake van holle frasen zoals ik eerder had toegelicht. Maar in het boek 'A century of Somali migration' staat wel dat er groepen Somaliërs zijn die als nomaden leven, maar niet een overweldigende meerderheid waardoor je ze traditioneel als een nomadenvolk kunt zien. Ook in het boek van Abdullahi staat dat er wel groepen zijn die door het leven gaan als nomaden, maar toch kan je niet formuleren dat de ze traditioneel gezien worden als een nomadenvolk. Als die bewering ook in de rest van de tekst staat dan moeten we die aanpassen of verwijderen. M.V.G. Runehelmet (overleg) 9 apr 2012 19:34 (CEST)
